Non-target arthropods (NTA)
Agriculturally used areas, buffer strips and fruit plantations are the homes of many arthropods, such as ladybirds, rove beetles or spiders. Before approval is granted, it must be reviewed whether and to what extent a plant protection agent will influence non-target arthropods.
Our Service
With a wide range of test organisms and diverse test options under lab, semi-open field and open field conditions, we offer our customers ecotoxicology tests for non-target arthropods according to current and standardised directives (IOBC/WPRS, ESCORT 2, 3 und DE JONG et al. (2010)) for many different applications.
Lab tests
(glass plate, inert substrate)
- Determination of the effective range (range finding test)
- Determination of mortality and reproduction
- Determination of LR50 and ER50
Expanded lab tests
(practical application of the plants, exposition of the test organisms under natural conditions)
- Determination of persistence (aged-residue tests)
- Determination of mortality and reproduction
- Determination of parasite activity or activity of predatory arthropods
Semi-open field tests
(Practical application of the plants, exposure of the test organisms under natural conditions)
- Determination of persistence (aged-residue tests)
- Determination of mortality and reproduction
- Determination of parasitic performance or feeding performance
Open field tests
(arable land and grassland)
- Sampling: soil cores, pitfall traps, soil photoeclectors, ecoVac - insect vacuum
- Determination of the arthropods as required by DE JONG et al. (2010)
